Artists and Marketing
An absolutely awesome band has been recommended to me on Twitter: Lady Jane. I’m blown away and want to share their music with you, especially a certain song: my turn. If just there was a tool to embed their song into my blog post! Wait…
Actually, there is! Tumblr provides it for me. Sadly, it isn’t compatible with the obscure widgets and the website Lady Jane are promoting their songs on. And I really dislike just linking to some website instead of embedding music right into my blog posts. And there is a good chance I won’t even write about a song or an artist if the linking or embedding is too complicated.
So what’s my point? Dear artists, please make promoting you as easy as possible. No matter how awesome your music is – technical fails can be a real deal-breaker. If you can’t decide about a web service – SoundCloud does a great job, for example ;-)
But all right, I’ll make an exception, just this one time: Lady Jane! Enjoy!

Update: Come on, Lady Jane, selling your music only on a disc in a prepaid, self-addressed envelope is really not the way to go!
