LOL Science
During my time at the university (and especially when looking for literature for my master thesis) I came across several weird, funny or otherwise remarkable books. Here’s the list – enjoy and feel the academical spirit!
LARP (Live Action Role Playing) finally found its way into media science! As an experienced LARPer I’m understandably very proud and will continue contributing to science by dressing up and wielding my sword.

(Sebastian Abresch: Prosumenten-Kulturen) [LARP – Your Second Self. The Prosumer as Live Action Role Player]
Well, does this need any explanation? The Internet is for porn!

(Feona Attwood: Porn.com. Making Sense of Online Pornography)
There definitely should be a soap opera with that title! It surely would be a tremendous success! The chapters have nice titles, too:

(Sophinette Becker: Sex, Lügen und Internet) [Sex, Lies and the Internet; the chapter title reads: Seduction on the Web: Young Women Between the MSN-Messenger and Sadomasochistic Amorous Adventures and Men of Every Age Between Sex Addiction and the Dream of the Love of Their Life]
This one maybe doesn’t come as a surprise to you, but I was totally unaware that there is a book about the Chaos Computer Club. Nice! By the way: The cover says “God is on a floppy disk”. The times they are a-changin’…

(Jürgen Wieckmann: Das Chaos Computer Buch. Hacking made in Germany) [The Chaos Computer Book. Hacking Made in Germany]
To be continued :-)
